OIlfield Art Gallery

Starting last week, I have 12 pieces at the Oilfield Art Gallery in Lloydminster, Alberta. I was contacted this spring by Jackie Mohrbutter, the gallery owner about putting some of my work in her gallery.

So, at the end of August, I brought up some pieces that are not oilfield related (some of the gallery is oilfield, some is not). I did one old-style derrick in wax, but otherwise the pieces consist of the Grazing Buffalo, Bighorn Sheep, a winterwolf, Venus in wax, a couple of abstracts and a number of others.

I'm really excited to have my wax "Clemmer Technique/Effect" in a gallery setting. Last year at the Wainwright Arts Festival, was really the first time that my wax/acrylic paintings were on display. I think the technique and the paintings themselves take a little getting used to, perhaps it grows on you (not like a fungus either), and it takes awhile to appreciate the detail in the texture.
