The Carousel Horse

I'm really pleased with my new wax, The Carousel Horse. I'm also pleased to say that she's already been purchased.
There's just something about the merry-go-round horses that are intriguing. They have an element of child-like joy, but also a kind of dark side, scary movie in the run-down carnival type thing. I'm not sure which I like more.

The War Pony

As a companion piece to the Lakota Warrior is the War Pony. Painted in acrylic paint with my wax technique beneath, this piece is one of my favourites. The painting of the red circle around the eye and the three lines across the bridge of the nose is a common image seen on Lakota war ponies.

The Buffalo Honouring Skull

The Buffalo, Tatanka, is the symbol of the spirit of North American plains Indians, and the wax painting of the skull is a way of honouring the buffalo and the traditional ways of the Aboriginal people.
The copper bands on the buffalo horn is copper leaf. The painting is 20"x20".

Haida Raven

The Raven, the trickster is depicted here in the Haida style. Each night, the Raven steals the sun, and each morning it gets away.
My version is also done in the wax technique.
